The new Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro has already been officially presented, although it will go on sale from next Monday, August 26. The terminal arrives with the “Flagship Killer” label, that is, a priori it is able to offer all those that presume a high range, but at a much lower price. Today we wanted to check if that fits reality, facing the new Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro with a whole OnePlus 7 Pro.
The OnePlus 7 Pro is one of the best terminals of 2019, we have already made comparisons of its photos against other terminals in its range, and also boasts of having one of the best screens on the market. As we see in the technical characteristics, both terminals have the Snapdragon 855, although the Mi 9T Pro will only offer in Spain a variant with 6 GB of RAM, compared to 8 GB of RAM that his twin brother, the Redmi K20 Pro, offers in China.

Very different designs
When we look at the design of both terminals there are very notable differences, such as the size of the screen. The My 9T Pro has a 6.39-inch screen with resolution FullHD+, while the OnePlus 7 Pro reaches 6.7 inches and raise its resolution until QHD +. Both terminals tie curiously in their thickness, 8.8 millimeters in both, although the larger size of the OnePlus 7 Pro translates into a greater weight, 206 grams per 191 grams of the Mi 9T Pro. It should also be taken into account that the Mi 9T Pro does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which does keep the Mi 9T Pro. However, the OnePlus 7 Pro's screen has earned its fame, something that shows a lot in multimedia content of services such as Netflix, since the Mi 9T Pro is compatible with HDR and the OnePlus 7 Pro is compatible with HDR10 +. That is, we will perceive more vivid and natural colors and darker dark tones.
Differences and similarities
Both terminals move under the baton of Android 9 Pie and will be subsequently updated to Android Q, but their customization layers are very different with MIUI 10 by Xiaomi and Oxygen 9.5 in OnePlus. Both terminals nail your battery with 4,000 mAh With fast charging technology. Another common element is its emerging front cameras and an integrated fingerprint sensor on the screen. A priori the differences do not seem to be so scandalous, but in the price we find one of the main ones. The Mi 9T Pro will go on sale from 399 euros in its version of 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. The OnePlus 7 Pro can be found right now from 709 euros, with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It is a difference of 310 euros, a considerable amount considering that on paper, both terminals offer practically the same benefits.
And what about the cameras?
We have reached a key point and we may notice one of the great differences between the two terminals. Since in the different photographic tests performed, the OnePlus 7 Pro has offered better results. Recall that both terminals have a triple rear camera configuration, led by a 48 megapixel main sensor. In the selfie section the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro reaches 20 megapixels, for the 16 megapixels of the OnePlus 7 Pro.
Before seeing the comparison, it should be fair also highlighting that the One Plus 7 Pro has been on the market for several months and has received several updates that have improved your performance and the quality of the photos. It is possible that the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro also has a certain path in this regard, but at least in the first instance both terminals are far from each other.
In the following series of night photographs you can always see the same pattern. More detail in the OnePlus 7 Pro, although both terminals capture enough light to get out of low light situations. In the following photographs you can look at details like sand or the sheets to better appreciate the difference in quality between both terminals. In the whole series of photos, you will always see the image on the left belongs to the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, and on the right always the OnePlus 7 Pro.
Photos by day and zoom
In this image taken with both terminals in a day with good light but cloudy, we see how the greater opening of the OnePlus 7 Pro takes advantage by capturing more light than its rival. As you will see below, we have performed zoom tests to try to see the scope and detail of both devices. In this sense the OnePlus 7 Pro defeats the Mi 9 T Pro again. However, the level of detail obtained by Xiaomi's phone in these tests closely rivals OnePlus.
Selfie and bookeh mode
Finally we leave you with the tests performed with the front camera of both terminals. As we can see, the level of detail is clearly higher in the OnePlus 7 Pro. In the image of our Glasses Geek the OnePlus terminal shows some more natural colors and generally achieves a better result. The same goes for the portrait mode in the example of the dog, in which hairs and colors are much more detailed. Finally we have an example of the close approach of both terminals, where once again we verify that the OnePlus 7 Pro squeezes the details better and shows more natural colors.
The OnePlus 7 Pro is a full-fledged flagship and is not daunted by the arrival of low-cost alternatives. We must bear in mind that we are facing a higher cost terminal, but it offers what it promises. By against the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, despite being a great alternative and having a heart attack price does not approach, at least in photographic and screen terms, the OnePlus terminal. The user must rate which elements give more importance and which ones he considers most expendable when deciding on one or the other.
The feeling we have is that the Mi 9T Pro, comes more like "killer" from other terminals of Xiaomi itself, like the Mi 9, than as a giant killer of other brands. As we said at the beginning, we must bear in mind that we are at the dawn of its launch and that the device could have room for improvement, that is, that the photos of the Mi 9T Pro of now, may seem little to those that are capable to take out in a few months. What do you think about it?
