I don't travel much, but when I do, I like to do it properly. And by "correctly", I mean with all my gadgets organized. Yes, you can leave your chargers at the bottom of your backpack or suitcase. Or you can put them in a pocket.
But they will get damaged, you will end up missing something, and if you need to take out a charger, adapter, backpack or cable, you'll end up dropping the rest on the departure lounge floor.
You need to get organized, and this is a great way to do it.
Get a gadget organizer
I recently switched to a Bagsmart organizer. I previously used a bag of Muji toiletries, which worked well for many years, but was getting a little crowded. The USB-C / USB-A combo charger I use is now too big to fit in my old Muji bag.
The Bagsmart also offers other advantages. It's flat, making it easy to slide in and out of my backpack when I need it. And the elastic straps inside mean I can even open it while standing on the boarding line when I realize I need the headphone dongle for my iPad. Thanks to the straps, nothing falls off.
Now the Bagsmart is good, but there are many alternatives in everything Amazon. Just look for the following features:
- Elastic straps to hold items in place when you open them.
- A mesh pocket for smaller items: SIM card tools, ear plugs, SD cards, etc. The mesh is better, because then you can see what is inside. In addition, airport security workers can also see, minimizing disruptions.
- Zip closure. A zippered closure retains dust and loose dongles.
And that's it. Also make sure it can be closed completely, if that's what you need. Two large pouches on directly opposite sides are useless as they will come between each other when you try to close the case. A bag is usually sufficient.

Otherwise, please choose based on size and your individual needs. The Bagsmart straps, for example, are great for cables, but are too short for a duck head. Apple. As you can see from the photos, mine is kind of stuck there.
But whatever you do, do yourself a favor and get a travel gadget organizer. It makes a big difference, and they're pretty nice and cheap.
Finally, here is a list of what's in my bag:
- Anker USB Charger (the old non-USB-C one).
- 6 foot USB-C Anker cable (red).
- 6 foot Anker Lightning cable (gray).
- USB-C headphone key.
- Jim Dunlop selection.
- Mini USB cable.
- Ear plugs.
- Euro duck for the loader.
- Apple pencil.
