Acer today announces its new Predator Triton 500 and Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptops. In addition to significant developments in thermal performance, both products are equipped with the latest 10th generation Intel Core processors and new NVIDIA GeForce RTX SUPER GPUs and GTX.

James Lin, General Manager, Notebooks, IT Products Business at Acer says

Predator Triton 500, high performance to meet the highest challenges.

Predator Triton 500

Equipped with the latest 10th generation Intel Core processors designed for high performance laptops and capable of integrating up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GPU or the GPU 2070 SUPER with Max-Q Design, the Predator Triton 500 is capable of raising the highest challenges. With a battery life of 7:30 hours, it offers impressive power even when on the move, making it an excellent choice for enjoying your favorite games. Its IPS 300 Hz panel, with an overdrive response time of 3 ms, displays the entire action with vivid and fluid details, covering 100% of the RGB color gamut while supporting wide angle views . NVIDIA G-SYNC technology eliminates tearing and minimizes latency.

The Predator Triton 500 is equipped with a Killer ™ Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i wireless controller, an E3100G ethernet controller and Control Center 2.0 to improve the quality of the network connection and thus guarantee that critical speed applications have priority over bandwidth . All this power is concentrated in a very thin all-metal chassis of 17.9 mm and light with only 2.1 kg. The screen outline is reduced with a screen to frame ratio of 81%. The computer has 32 GB DDR4 memory and NVMe, RAID 0 SSD storage capacity of up to 2 TB.

Vortex Flow: tailor-made cooling technology

The Predator Triton 500 is equipped with Acer Vortex Flow technology, a new design including three custom fans strategically placed in the chassis, working in tandem to increase additional air flow while reducing noise. This technology is further enhanced by CoolBoost technology, which increases the speed of the fans for better performance. Players can monitor the device temperature and adjust the fan speed through the PredatorSense user interface.

The innovative cooling system also includes a 4th generation AeroBlade 3D all-metal fan that has been specially designed to maximize airflow and reduce noise. Serrated edges, fins, and curved blades increase air flow by up to 45%. By adding five heat pipes to the system, the Predator Triton 500 version 2020 ultimately achieves 33% better thermal performance than its 2019 counterpart.

The Acer Nitro 5 is equipped with a 10th generation Intel® Core ™ i7 processor which obtains 5 GHz of performance and the graphics options of a GeForce RTX 2060 or the latest GPUs GeForce GTX 1650Ti or 1650. It can be equipped with two M.2 PCle SSDs and a 1 TB HDD1 hard drive for storage, and 32 GB of DD4R4 RAM on two user-expandable DIMM ports. Available with a 15.6-inch FHD IPS screen, gamers will particularly appreciate the significantly improved visuals of this 2020 version. Models with refresh rates of 144 Hz or 120 Hz1 and a response time of 3 ms allow smooth gameplay that comes to life on the 72% NTSC, 300-bit panel on the device 2.

The Acer Nitro 5 comes with several innovative thermal solutions to maximize cooling efficiency, even under heavy loads. It is equipped with a dual fan cooling system that takes advantage of strategically placed intake / exhaust ports and four heat sinks to achieve an overall 25% improvement in thermal performance compared to the 2019 model. This improvement is further optimized by CoolBoost ™ technology, which increases fan speed by 10% and CPU / GPU cooling by 9%. New to this year’s model, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 (802.11ax) and Killer Ethernet E2600 technology increase network stability and performance, allowing gamers to take full advantage of these thermal improvements.
