Google has just announced that 98% of apps that listen to or read everything you do on your smartphone have finally been removed from the Play Store! We are talking about the 2019 figure that the company itself has advanced.
Why 98? Why not 100%?
It's that easy! According to Google itself, the applications that remain in the Play Store can only work with access to the calls and messages of the users. In other words, their functionality depends on these resources, because that is why they are created and users know their access.
98% of apps that violate your privacy disappear in the Android world!
So if you don't know, in October 2018 it was announced that Google would remove all apps that collect personal information like SMS and Call History without a clear reason to do so.
As such, the research giant offers 90 days for developers to update and adapt their applications to the new policies. Results? 98% of applications that need access to these resources are eventually removed from the Internet Google Play Store, in fulfillment of the company's promises by the end of 2018.
But calm down! This does not mean that Google Play Store now very clean …
Despite Google's new rules, there are still hundreds of malicious apps on the Play Store that, of course, continue to have undue access to personal information. In fact, we even have several examples of applications that even steal user identities.
However, even though all apps have been 'hunted' lately, Google has blocked 1.9 billion malware. In an effort that should improve its tone by 2020, a clear desire to be closer to that quality. Apple a gift in your App Store.
