At IFA 2019 in Berlin, ASUS announced the release of the ROG Phone 2 smartphone on the European market and released an updated version of the smartphone called ROG Phone 2 Ultimate Edition.
The standard version of ASUS ROG Phone 2 (now called the Elite Edition) and the advanced (Ultimate Edition) received a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Both ASUS ROG Phone 2 models are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC with 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and an advanced cooling system. There is no memory card slot for both models.
ASUS ROG Phone 2 Ultimate Edition differs from the base version in a matte black case (rather than glossy), 1 TB (in the base version of 512 GB) built-in flash memory standard USF 3.0 and support for mobile communication standard Cat20 4G / LTE with download speeds of up to 2 Gbps
The cost of ASUS ROG Phone 2 Elite Edition starts from 899 euros, and the Ultimate Edition – from 1199 euros. Elite Edition sales will begin on September 20, 2019 – pre-orders can be issued today. Ultimate Edition will be released only in the fourth quarter of this year.
