Acer expands the notebook segment for creator and gamers with new entry-level devices at IFA 2019. The Creator Series ConceptD, first introduced in April, is rounded down with the ConceptD 3, and for gamers Acer has introduced the Predator Triton 300, which costs 600 euros less than the next larger Triton model.
With ConceptD Acer wants to address creator, which so far due to the offered achievement tended to use to gaming notebooks, although the frequently used design actually addresses a different target group. Also typically at Apple buyers want to convince Acer with ConceptD. The products should be simply designed and equipped with high-quality displays and quiet fans.
On the smallest in terms of price ever smallest ConceptD 5, which is available from 1,699 euros, Acer lets follow in Berlin today the ConceptD 3, which is expected to come in the course of the fourth quarter for about 400 euros less on the market. Acer replaces the exotic Kaby Lake G processor of the ConceptD 5 with a ninth-generation Intel Core i7 and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650. Alternatively, the notebook is available as a Pro version with a Quadro T1000.
ConceptD Pro come with Quadro graphics cards
This innovation runs through all ConceptD notebooks presented so far over the year, which Acer presented at the IFA as a pro version with Quadro graphics card. The ConceptD 5 Pro is the Quadro RTX 3000, the ConceptD 7 Pro and ConceptD 9 Pro the Quadro RTX 5000. In addition, Acer now offers the ConceptD 5 no longer only in 15 inches, but also 17 inches.
The display of the ConceptD 3 is 15.6 inches tall and resolves in Ultra HD. The validation of color fidelity by Pantone offers Acer here as well. And the promise to be no louder than 40 dBa under full load, there is for the ConceptD 3. In terms of connections, the notebook left Ethernet, HDMI, USB Type C and two USB Type A, right a jack, USB Type A and a connection for loading.
Predator Triton 300 starts from 1.099 euros
Quite similar to the ConceptD 3 is the new entry point for gamers: the Predator Triton 300. For here, too, a combination of Intel Core i7 ninth generation Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 tinkers. In favor of the starting at 1,099 euros significantly lower price than the Predator Triton 500 waives Acer on the latest Turing graphics cards. Apart from that, there are standard 16 GB RAM, a 512 GB SSD, Wi-Fi 6 and a Full HD display with 144 Hz and 3 ms response time.
Players should be approached with details such as the glowing Predator logo on the lid, the RGB keyboard, and performance-optimized cooling. Two so-called AeroBlade fans are to be used in CoolBoost mode and in combination with "strategically placed supply and exhaust flaps"Fight against throttling.
The ports have Ethernet, Mini DisplayPort, HDMI, USB Type C and two USB Type A ports on the left, the 3.5 mm jack on the right, another USB Type A socket and the charging port. Again, strong parallels can be drawn to the ConceptD 3. Acer plans to launch the Predator Triton 300 in the course of the fourth quarter.
