Now that WhatsApp has received dark mode in smartphones it’s the Instagram has been supporting the function for some time now, it looks like Mark Zuckerberg and his team are working to bring the new theme to the mobile version of Facebook. The website WABetaInfo, specializing in leaks about the popular messenger, published images of the social network working with Dark Mode on iOS.
According to WABetaInfo, the dark mode of the Facebook cannot be tested by users on iOS, but is already being implemented in the latest versions of the app for mobile phones from Apple. In other words, the trend is for more news about the function to arrive within the next few months.
According to the images shared by the site, the novelty is implemented in all parts of the app, from profiles and feed to the notifications tab. When dark mode is activated, the social network adopts gray tones, ensuring a friendlier experience for the eyes and less energy consumption on devices with an OLED screen.
Dark mode on Android also leaked
Images shared by the site arrive weeks after a profile on the Twitter identified as Alessandro Paluzzi show the dark mode of the Facebook in the Android app. Last month, the developer said that the function is still “hidden” and in early stages of implementation in Google’s system, which creates certain problems during use.
So far, the Facebook hasn’t officially commented on bringing dark mode support to the social network’s mobile apps. Still, the trend is that the novelty is launched for Android and iOS phones, considering that the visual standard is already present in other versions of the social network.
The company has already started to implement a new design for the web version of Facebook which has a built-in dark mode. In addition, the Lite edition of the Android app also has a night interface.
