Microsoft knows well that to support the multimedia field, it has to attend to many technologies related to image and sound. For a long time Windows 10 and Xbox One support Dolby Atmos, but there are other similar, but different, technologies that are not yet supported. A few months ago Microsoft confirmed to support new technologies, as is the case with the new DTS: X. After a while, it's time to confirm that DTS support: X reaches Windows 10 and will do so soon to Xbox One consoles.
The news comes from a response from Steven Wilssens, of Microsoft, who has confirmed his arrival, although for now he has only done so for insiders of Windows. It will be a matter of days when this new application is available to everyone, just as it will be for Xbox One users.

With this, the application has been discovered in Windows 10, as it exists for Dolby Atmos, but is currently only available for insiders who have the latest build installed. It goes without saying that the famous May update is required, which is also required for the new Xbox application that gives access to the Xbox Game Pass games. Returning to what we are attending, it is important to see the commitment of Microsoft to support DTS: X, with your arrival at Windows 10 and soon on Xbox One.
As usual, in the case of Xbox One, it seems that currently the application would be in that verification phase required to publish it on consoles. In the same way, it points out that it will do it first to Xbox insiders, thus supporting this surround sound technology that will be complemented with the other technologies for which Xbox One is already compatible.
But it is not only Microsoft who has talked about this support for DTS: X. From the company DTS Inc has responded to this new application confirming the information given, stating that «We have worked closely with Microsoft over the past year to deliver the surround sound application», but before the application is public it is necessary to attend to a series of changes to improve the product and guarantee its correct and optimal operation.
With all this, the most demanding users may have at their disposal a new option to enjoy their movies, series and, who knows, if future games. Confirmed the arrival of the application that supports DTS: X in Windows 10, will do so soon to Xbox One, although there is no more information about it.
