Essential Phone 2 is officially in the testing phase

The information was confirmed by an Essential spokesman to the XDA-Developers forum. The company founded by Andy Rubin (one of Android's parents) is already developing the successor of the first Essential Phone.

Essential spokesman said: “We previously shared that the Essential team is working on a new device. It is now in its primary testing phase, and we will reveal more details in the future. ”

The expectation of a new Essential Phone remains high after this confirmation. It is recalled that the first version of this terminal was launched in August 2017, being the first smartphone to hit the market with a (small) notch.

Camera was the big flaw of the original Essential Phone

With a sober aesthetic and focused on durability, the Essential Phone did not have the recognition expected, much due to criticism of its camera. However it is noteworthy its construction in titanium and ceramic.

Essential Phone has been released as a great alternative for those who like pure Android. It hit the market with no unnecessary applications (bloatware), almost pure Android experience, and constant updates. Suffice it to say that Android 10 already runs, for example.

What is expected of a new Essential Phone is that you can enjoy the virtues, and lose the defects of its predecessor. Ideally, any pure Android enthusiast can look at it as a real choice for Pixel or OnePlus.
