One of the functions that we most often perform with our browser is the ability to download files of any type from the Internet. This function is very useful and easy to implement. These files are saved along the specified path this may differ depending on the browser you are using. If we don’t know the path, or are using multiple browsers with different paths, we may desperately try to find the downloaded file.
To help you choose the path where you can save your downloads, we’ll show you how to customize it in your browser. To do this, we will show you how you can make this simple config in the most popular browsers, so we can decide for ourselves where we want to save the downloaded files. In addition, each browser also offers us the ability to ask where to download every time, instead of setting the default route.
If we are using Google Chrome as a browser and want to customize the folder where the downloads will be stored, we have to follow these steps. As soon as our browser opens, we have to click on three vertical points which appear in the upper right side of the browser. Here we will click on “Configuration” Tab. Once inside, in the bar on the right we will find “Advanced settings” which we have to display in order to find “Loading” menu.
By default, all files we download from Chrome will show up in the Downloads folder as well as in “Location” Tab. If we click on “Change” Button, this will give us the opportunity to enter the path to the place where we want the files downloaded from that moment to remain. Below we will also find the option “Ask where each file will be saved before uploading”. If we keep it active, every time we download it from Chrome, it will ask us where we want to save the file. If we always download files along the same path, we can turn it off. In case we are interested in saving each file in a different path, it is recommended to leave it checked.
If the Firefox browser is the one we usually use and we want to customize the folder to host our downloads, we have to do the following. With the browser open, we must click on three vertical stripes in the upper right corner. A tab will open where we have to select “Parameters” From here, we have to click on “General” Tab. Now we will lower the screen a little until we find Section “Files and Applications” Here we will have two options:
Save files to : from here we can choose the path where we want to place the downloaded files by default. To do this, we only need to click on Browse and select a folder. Once that is done, everything we download will go into this folder.
Always ask where to save files : if we need to save files in different folders, and not in a fixed one, ideally it is worth checking this option. This way, every time we upload a file, it asks us where we want to place it.
