The character Caroline Forbes (played by Candice King), from The Vampire Diaries, mother of twins Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) and Josie Saltzman (Kaylee Bryant), was mentioned several times in Legacies, but viewers haven’t seen it at any time during the seasons already aired.
However, this seems to be changing and she may soon appear in the narrative. All this because, during a recent interview with TV Line, Brett Matthews, showrunner of the series, hinted that the character can return to this magical universe if the actress is willing.
“The door will always be open for Candice,” said Matthews when asked about the matter. “We love her and consider her very much,” he added, saying that the character is quite important to the dramatic construction of some characters. “We would be thrilled [por tê-la de volta], but it really depends on her”, he emphasized.
Caroline Forbes on Legacies: how would the character’s return be?
the script of Legacies explains Caroline Forbes’ absence as if she were looking to find a plausible solution that might prevent the imminent merger between her two daughters. However, many viewers complain about this gap left by the character, claiming that she would be a terrible mother if she wasn’t close to Lizzie and Josie.
“We would love to be able to think about the challenge that will be the insertion of Caroline in the plot of Legacies” argued Matthews. “Whether for a specific episode, or an arc or whatever,” he said during the interview, saying that he also hopes that the actress’ schedule has a space for the project.
“Although Legacies whether it’s a show that’s going its own way, it’s been architected with the plot of other productions in mind — so the show is what it is — so we’d love to [essa participação]”he concluded.
In this way, we can only wait for news. The 3rd season of Legacies premiered last week with an emotional episode. Next week, audiences will see several twists on The CW series.
