Motorola launches line of smart TVs with Android and 4K resolution

At an event in India, Motorola launched its first line of smart TVs with Android 9.0 Pie and 4K resolution variants

Following in the footsteps of other manufacturers of smartphones entering the smart TV market, the Motorola, which is owned by Lenovo, launched its first line of smart TVs with operating system Android TV in partnership with Indiana Flipkart. Models have sizes up to 65 inches and options with 4K resolution for as low as $ 220.


The new range of TVs from Motorola follows the trend popularized in India by Xiaomi. Smart TVs from Motorola are equipped with the Android TV 9.0 and support formats HDR up to standard Dolby visionas well as various sound formats such as Dolby audio and DTS.

The line of LED TVs is formed by the models: 32 ”HD; 43 ”Full HD; 43 ”UHD (4K); 50 ”UHD (4K); 55 ”UHD (4K); 65 ”UHD (4K). All TVs perform the Android TV standard, all equipped with Dolby vision for content HDR 10. Depending on the variant, there is a soundbar connected at the bottom of the screen with speakers from 20W to 30W.

Internally, smart TV combines a MediaTek chipset eight-core with one GPU Mali, up until 2.25 GB of RAM and storage up to 16 GB. They all perform the Android 9 with support for Play Store and streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar and others.

Smart TV offers integrated support for Chromecast and voice controls with the Google Assistant. The dedicated wizard buttons, Play Store, YouTube and Netflix can be found directly on the TV remote control.

One of the strengths of the line is that smart TVs are equipped with a Bluetooth-enabled dual joystick gamepad. This was made for those who like to play Android games on TV. Check the prices of each model:

  • 43 ″ HDR TV: Rs 13,999.00 (approximately R $ 800);
  • 43 ″ FHD TV: Rs 24,999.00 (approximately R $ 1,400);
  • 43 ″ UHD (4K) TV: Rs 29,999.00 (approximately R $ 1,700);
  • 50 ″ UHD (4K) TV: Rs 33,999.00 (approximately R $ 1,900);
  • 55 ″ UHD (4K) TV: Rs 39,999.00 (approximately R $ 2,200);
  • 65 ″ UHD (4K) TV: Rs 64,999 (approximately R $ 3,700).

All smart TVs will be available from September 29th and will be exclusive, at least for now, in the Indian market.

THE E6S motorcycle It was also announced in India. It is a renamed version of Moto E6 Plus, released on IFA 2019in Berlin. The smartphone comes with a price and specifications that compete with the Xiaomi Redmi 7, Realme C2 and Vivo Y91, models on the rise in India. With a 6.1 inch (720 x 1560 pixels) HD + screen and a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, it has a circular notch on top with a selfie in 8 MP and facial recognition.

There is a dual camera setup on the back of the E6S motorcycle, above its predecessor's single camera configuration. The phone has a primary sensor of 13 MP at f / 2 and a secondary sensor of 2 MP to capture depth information. The back is removable and has a fingerprint reader fused with the logo of the Motorola.

The smartphone is equipped with a chipset MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which should be sufficient for most simple games.
