Mud resistant Casio G-Shock smart watch is pointless

Tom Wiggins byline

While most smart watches are built to withstand the bumps and scratches of everyday life, if your daily routine involves crawling through trenches or digging large holes, you may need something a little tougher. The new Casio G-Shock GG-B100 (£ 325) has a Carbon Core Guard case, which protects it from collisions and prevents dirt and dust, as well as a water resistance of up to 200m. As for smart features, it won't rival Apple WatchBut you can track basic activities using an accelerometer and have a built-in sensor to measure compass bearings, atmospheric pressure / altitude, and temperature, with the accompanying smartphone app to record everything. Add a two year battery life and you have another smart watch that begs for mercy.
