Overview of the first HyperX Alloy Core RGB gaming membrane keyboard

Hello. Many people know that HyperX has a large number of mechanical keyboard models with various switches for any pocket. But there was no gaming membrane keyboard. And this situation was changed by the backlit keyboard output called HyperX Alloy Core RGB, about which I will try to tell you more today.

Keyboard Specifications

The HyperX Alloy Core RGB keyboard is shipped in a cardboard box and branded white and red colors. On the front side of the package the gaming keyboard with a backlight is depicted. In the upper right corner is the RGB icon.

On the back of the box are the main features of this model, to which the manufacturer attributed:

  • branded light bar and custom RGB modes
  • waterproof design
  • dedicated multimedia controls
  • key lock mode

It is worth noting that the keyboard is guaranteed to survive the spill of liquid with a volume of 120 ml. It is better to try not to spill juices, cola and other drinks, because everything will be sticky later. On HyperX Alloy Core RGB, the manufacturer provides two years of warranty.

In addition to the keyboard itself, the buyer inside the box will find instructions in various languages and two promotional inserts. The manual lists all the combinations for managing and configuring the gaming keyboard.

On the back of the HyperX Alloy Core RGB there are legs with rubber pads, which, combined with the considerable weight of the keyboard, allow it to stand stably on the surface of a carpet or table and not fidget during nervous combat games. Here in the middle there is a sticker that indicates the power consumption of the keyboard and a warning about the loss of warranty when removing the sticker.

Using the folding legs, you can select the level of the keyboard: the height becomes 1.5cm.

Immediately when unpacking this backlit gaming keyboard, a cable caught my eye. He is fat, but at the same time soft and not hard. The USB plug is labeled HyperX. The 1.8m cable length will be enough to conveniently place HyperX Alloy Core RGB on the gaming table.

The keyboard cannot be called cumbersome, but it does not look compact either due to the presence of a digital unit on the right. In the middle above the exit point of the cable from the case there is a silver HyperX inscription, and in the lower part there is an icon above which the Fn key is located to work in combination with other keys.

In the upper left part above the strip with the milk diffuser there are three function keys. The first is responsible for changing the brightness level of the backlight. There are three values: off, 50% and 100%. Next comes the button for switching backlight modes. Using the Fn + up / down arrow button, you can set the speed of the glow mode effect. But most of all I would like to dwell on the five-zone backlighting of the HyperX Alloy Core RGB keyboard. In this mode, the keyboard is divided into 5 parts, for which the F1-F5 keys are responsible. To select a color in the leftmost sector, press the Fn + F1 key combination several times, for the rightmost Fn + F5, and so on. There are also modes Iridescent colors, Spectral wave, Intermittent, Permanent and Dawn. To select a color, hold down Fn + left / right arrow near the digital unit. But when you press Fn + F12, the keyboard is completely locked for pressing. This gaming membrane keyboard also has an Antighosting feature. Those. if you press all the keys at the same time, they will work, and not just stick. Typically, membrane keyboards have up to 8 simultaneous keystrokes. If I'm wrong, then correct in the comments. When you press the combination Fn + the third key in the left corner, the game mode is turned on and the key is turned off Windows. The keyboard cannot be configured from the computer: all settings are made through the keys.

In the upper right corner is the multimedia control unit. There are keys that are responsible for adjusting the volume level and fast-forward / rewind with pause and playback.

I would also like to draw attention to the uniformity of illumination of both the Cyrillic alphabet and the Latin alphabet. All this is due to the fact that the symbols are located almost in the middle of the keycaps.

To summarize the HyperX Alloy Core RGB gaming keyboard, I’ll highlight the main points. Excellent build quality: plastic does not creak and the design does not seem flimsy. Due to its sufficient weight and rubberized legs, this membrane keyboard stably stands on the surface and does not fidget during the next rink. The backlight is quickly adjusted through the keyboard itself: you can choose your favorite effect or color, set the brightness or even paint 5 zones of the keyboard in your colors. At the same time, the backlight is bright enough, but it does not blind the eyes. The presence of Antighosting technology allows you to work out all the clicks. By the way, the sound from keystrokes is much quieter than that of mechanical keyboards, and this is the choice of people who play at night or simply do not like the clicks of switches. At the same time, the keys work only at the very bottom when pressed, because this is the specificity of the membranes. Typing on this keyboard is easy, the letters do not slip. The lock function will be useful for pet owners who like to run around your table, or small children like to fool around when you leave your computer. Well, do not forget that HyperX Alloy Core RGB is not afraid of water.

And what do you choose: a membrane keyboard or a mechanical one? Share your opinion.
