Information on the new Snapdragon 865 mobile chipset has appeared in the Geekbench benchmark database. The upcoming novelty appears under the code name QUALCOMM Kona for arm64.
The tested device with the new chipset was equipped with 6 GB of RAM, and Android Q (Android 10) was used as the software. As a result of testing on the Geekbench Snapdragon 865 scored 4160 points in the single-core test, and 12 946 points in the multi-core.
Thus, the upcoming chipset bypasses all existing mobile platforms, including Apple A12 Bionic, on which all iPhone 2018 models are based.
It is assumed that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC will be released in two versions, one of which will receive 5G support. Like the Snapdragon 855, the new chipset will also support LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 internal memory.
The official debut of Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC is expected in December this year. Presumably, the first smartphone based on the new processor will be Samsung Galaxy S11, the announcement of which will take place next year.
