It was presented in August of 2017 and despite being 4 months after one year of its presentation in its native China, the Meizu M6 Note It is still an excellent alternative to choose today for the benefits it offers.
The M6 Note It offers a 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD resolution and the classic 16: 9 aspect, while inside we find an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage with microSD cards.
In the photographic section we will find a double rear camera of 12 and 5 megapixels, while in the front we will find a 16 MP camera. All of the above is operated by Android 7.12 Nougat customized by its proprietary Flyme OS 6.1 interface and powered by a 4,000 mAh battery.
Now that Meizu has officially landed in Peru and Chile, we will begin to see M6 more often Note by these sides. For this reason we have a lot to tell you about this smartphone, so thanking our new friends of Meizu Chile & Secutronic Latam for the loan of this equipment, we started with the review.

DESIGN AND DISPLAY
In the design section we find a completely metallic equipment with rounded corners, while in the front we have glass and some frames on the top and bottom of the screen, in addition to finding the fingerprint reader on the front .
Once you have the equipment in your hands, you will notice that the M6 Note It has a slightly higher weight than normal, but at least it didn't bother me at all, in fact you feel you have a smartphone Premium in your hands. Its dimensions are 154.6 x 75.2 x 8.4 mm and its weight reaches 173 grams.
On the back side we will find its double camera with vertical orientation and we also appreciate a horizontal line where the four LED’s of the camera flash go, two of them have different shades. Finally we see the Meizu logo and two lines that are the team's antennas.
Finally on the left edge we will only find the hybrid slot to choose between using two NanoSIM cards or one NanoSIM + MicroSD. On the right edge we find the power and volume keys, while on the upper edge we see a second microphone and on the lower edge we have the headphone jack, main microphone, MicroUSB port and speaker.
IPS LCD DISPLAY
In this section we will not see the famous “notch” or an elongated screen, here we will have a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD screen that maintains the classic 16: 9 aspect.
Among the available options we can activate the automatic brightness, change the font size, modify the color temperature, activate or deactivate the automatic rotation and activate the “Respectful mode with the eyes” which will modify the hue of the screen to protect your eyes and thus be able to sleep better.
CONCLUSION: I liked the design of our protagonist, at first glance it proves to be a high-end equipment, it is very well built, with materials that appear to be of good quality and it is also quite comfortable to use and carry in your pockets.
As for the screen, although it reaches a very high brightness level, I feel that the colors are not really vivid as one expects, it is as if the colors were somewhat muted. I did not like its definition at all, despite being a Full HD screen, I could not appreciate the lyrics and icons in good detail.
The M6 Note It has two rear cameras that are of very good photographic quality, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX362 sensor with an f / 1.9 Dual Pixel PDAF aperture, while the second Samsung 2L7 sensor is 5 megapixels with f / 2.0 aperture. Both cameras are accompanied by a flash with 4 LED’s with double hue.
On the front side we will find a 16 megapixel camera which has an f / 2.0 aperture, ideal to capture your selfies with a good image quality. It also has functions to improve those "details" of your face as the beauty mode.
When we activate the camera application for the first time, we will find a very complete interface and at least for me it turned out to be easy to handle. On the left side we find functions such as HDR, effects, activate the flash, enter the settings menu or enter the available capture modes where we can activate the Pro mode. On the right side we can switch between photo, video or beauty, as well as activate the front camera and capture button that simultaneously acts as a leveler.
Among the capture modes we will find: Pro, Slow Motion, Time Lapse, Makeup, GIF, Panoramic, and Scan (such as QR codes, bar codes … etc.). If we enter Pro mode, we can manually control the white balance, ISO, aperture, exposure, saturation, contrast and focus.
I will leave you with a video where I show you in action how the camera application that brings the M6 works Note:
Here I will leave you with a couple of photographs that were captured with our Meizu M6 Note in different conditions Of course, all were captured in their maximum resolution and automatic settings, except for two photos that were captured with portrait mode (which are indicated).
The double camera of our protagonist has the ability to capture video in 4K quality at 30 frames per second, as well as video in Full HD and 720p HD.
Then I will leave you with two videos recorded with the M6 Note, one in 4K and one in Full HD so that you can appreciate its image quality. Remember that YouTube Modify the original quality a bit.
CONCLUSION: I must admit that I personally did not have much faith in this double camera at first, but after capturing photos I was impressed with the image quality, worthy of a true high-end. When the light conditions are good, the photos come out very well in my opinion, and the thing is well maintained when we are at night, although noise in the images can still be seen.
I also liked the quality of the videos, they are made with real and unsaturated colors as in other smartphones, and the audio quality also turned out to be good. Unfortunately there is no image stabilization.
SYSTEM AND MULTIMEDIA
The Meizu M6 Note It comes from the factory with Android 7.1.2 Nougat and customized by its proprietary interface called Flyme OS in its 6.1 version, and very soon it should be updated to Flyme OS 7. I must say that it is the first time I see Flyme OS and the truth is that no I liked it at all, I feel that visually it is something old, as it does not adapt well to the current times, in addition to its icons are very large as well as its interface.
Although I did not like the visual issue much, I liked how the system runs because it is very fast, stable and fluid. What I liked a lot were its animations that appear when you open applications or return to the home screen. I must warn you that the level of customization is 100%, there are no traces of Pure Android, so if you are looking for the original Android interface, this is NOT the device you are looking for.
I emphasize that if Flyme OS is very easy to use, the configuration menu is very well explained and it is not a maze like the Samsung settings menu hehehe. When I received the device it came with the Android security patch corresponding to the month of January of this year and since then I have not received any update.
Now I will leave you with a video demonstration of the operating system so you can learn more about its interface for those who do not know what Flyme OS is like:
In this section the M6 Note It looks when incorporating a 4,000 mAh battery capacity and is compatible with a fast charging system called mCharge which is done through its MicroUSB cable.
We test the autonomy of the equipment as if it were ours and with daily use, so we go with the detail:
Used applications: Twitter, Facebook, Messenger, Google Chrome, Spotify, Gmail, YouTube, Net Monitor Lite, Speedtest, Wear OS, Swarm, Trello, Signal, WhatsApp, among others.
Wearables connected: Huawei Watch 2
Active connectivity: Wi-Fi (5GHz), 4G active, Bluetooth and A-GPS
Brightness of the screen: Automatic
With the use described above, the Meizu M6 Note managed to deliver an approximate autonomy of 28 hours and almost 8 hours of screen approximately.
CONCLUSION: As I said at the beginning, Flyme OS visually did not like it very much, I find that the interface is somewhat outdated, with very large icons and I get the feeling that I went back to previous years, so I think that Meizu should urgently launch an improvement on the visual theme, but don't change the animations that I personally liked.
Although I did not like the appearance of Flyme OS, I must say that the operating system in general runs very fast, fluid, although very rarely as it takes a bit to open some applications, but that is something worthy of a medium range.
Finally the battery gave me an autonomy more than very good and that we owe it mainly to its 4,000 mAh capacity. Hopefully the other manufacturers will learn from Meizu and add batteries of this capacity, regardless of whether the equipment will be a bit thicker.
Meizu incorporates its own music player which will allow you to listen to your music that you have stored in the internal or external memory. It offers the typical random play functions, allows you to create or manage playlists or mark songs as favorites, in addition to being able to display the lyrics of the song if it is available.
As expected, the player includes a five-band equalizer and you can adjust it as you wish or select one of its five pre-equalized profiles. All of the above only works when connecting headphones.
We also have an exclusive application for videos with which we can see our videos that we have stored on the device, offering basic controls, activate playback with pop-up window … etc. This will be enough for the vast majority, but remember that Google Play always has more and better options to improve your experience.
I don't know if the M6 Note Bring headphones in your box or not, but I connected my Xiaomi Hybrid Pro and the sound quality was good, it delivered very acceptable bass and treble and its volume power was high, but it is not the maximum that your audio chip can offer .
The equalizer built into the music player helps to improve the sound quality, but being a 5-band equalizer does not help much, let alone its pre-equalized profiles.
Turning to the speaker, I tell you that it is only one that is located at the bottom of the equipment, so we will have audio in MONO. However, the sound quality surprised me, the bass that it emits is very noticeable and makes us believe that the sound that comes is not from a cell phone. It is also quite powerful, delivering powerful bass a little more than half the volume, then the bass decreases for speaker protection.
CONCLUSION: In the multimedia section I found it more or less no more, and I found it strange that a mid-range team like this does not bring FM Radio. In the sound quality with headphones I expected a little more, but it still sounds pretty good. The speaker impressed me how it sounds, since as I said before the sound is good and it sounds quite loud, that you want to have been two speakers of this type to offer stereo sound.
If you want to use Bluetooth headphones, I tell you that the audio quality is good, the volume power is not limited and is compatible with the apt-X codec, in fact Flyme OS shows you the battery status in the top bar.
To be the first Meizu that I have tried in these 7 years that I have been doing reviews, I must say that it left the rod high, I feel that it is a very complete team with a very good quality camera, a battery that will make you forget the charger for a time, good system performance, a more than acceptable screen and a standard design but with good materials.
I have the feeling that several will not like the Flyme OS interface, although the system offers the possibility of installing themes to change the look that I personally did not like very much. However, if this is not an issue for you, the team will love you for the good performance it offers and for how fast it is.
I insist that the camera impressed me, I feel that the camera and the battery are the elements that stand out in this team. It is a mid-range model, although for me it is a high mid-range, there are things to improve but it is still a team that I recommend. In fact in several places they say that the M6 Note It is an excellent response to the famous Xiaomi A1, and to be honest I believe the same.
The Meizu M6 Note It will be available in our country from June of this year in the main retail stores. Its price will be CLP $ 179,990 and will have a one year warranty.
We already thank Meizu Chile & Secutronic Latam again for providing us with this equipment.
