ROG announces new notebook gaming at CES 2021

ROG (Republic of Gamers) took advantage of the CES 2021 fair to announce some news and highlight its main products for those who like to play through notebooks. The Zephyrus Duo 15 laptop, for example, has been upgraded to a 4K display with a 120Hz refresh rate, made possible by supporting RTX 30 GPUs!

Also integrated to AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, Zephyrus Duo 15 SE brings a number of interesting features with regard to system, keyboard and ScreePad cooling, with release scheduled for the first quarter of 2021 in the United States.

New Tools and Features

Taking advantage of the fair’s virtual atmosphere in these times of pandemic, it was launched on Steam a ROG Citadel XV, an opportunity to digitally tour the news announced at CES 2021, which you can experience on its download page.

Voxel was kindly invited to participate in a virtual press conference where some of ROG’s key tools were introduced in more detail, such as system profiles allowing the user to quickly adapt to needs using just a keyboard shortcut.

With turbo mode, it is possible to increase fan speeds and frequencies to speed up the CPU in very demanding tasks like 3D rendering or video editing. Performance mode optimizes cooling and keeps noise below 45db during gameplay. There’s even a silent mode that takes the volume down to below 35db, which can be used for lighter tasks like watching your favorite videos.

ROG also highlighted its advanced dual-lane noise cancellation system, which removes noise from your microphone, but also from other incoming sources such as dog barking. You can customize sound levels one application at a time, and prioritize voice chat to have the clearest communication possible, achieving up to 95% noise reduction. All of this runs through the CPU, which frees up the GPU to focus on its gaming functions.

A great lineup gamer

In the vast lineup of gaming machines highlighted in the video above, there are two devices focused on innovation: the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE, with its two screens and great performance, is the best and main machine from ROG for games. The ROG Flow X13 + XG Mobile stands out for portable experiences.

For those who like esports, the ROG Strix SCAR 15/17 models are available, tailored for professional players, and the ROG Strix G15//17, this one already with a more mainstream footprint. In the Ultra slim line, the stylish ROG Zephyrus G14 / G15 still brings a good performance for games, but bets more on the flashy look.

Thinking about cost-effectiveness for players, in the most affordable part of the line we have the ASUS TUF Gaming A15/A17, most recommended for students and players looking for a good entry machine, while the ASUS TUF Gaming Dash F15 brings a similar proposal , but already with a slimmer design.

On the ROG website you can find the complete product lineup, which includes not only options to play at 120 FPS in 4K, but also models with 1080p at 300Hz. What did you think of this lineup and the news announced during CES 2021? Comment below!
