ASUS announces its first 6-inch smartphone designed specifically for mobile gaming, the ROG Phone. The machine takes on muscular mechanics and benefits from an optimized cooling system.
The ROG Phone targets a very specific market with the promise of “ROG gaming DNA”. At the heart of its mechanics we have an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor overclocked to 2.96 GHz and an Adreno 630 GPU. Cooling is by a unique system called GameCool. It relies on a steam chamber as well as a detachable AeroActive cooler.

The machine offers several game controls including two programmable ultrasonic AirTriggers and a haptic force feedback interface. Its curves have been designed for players. For example, its side ports are optimized for Landscape mode.
Added to this is a 6-inch AMOLED screen capable of supporting a Full HD + 18: 9 definition, ie 2160 x 1080 pixels. It provides a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a response time of 1 ms. Up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X can be used and 128 GB (UFS2 .1) provide storage. Its equipment includes a 12M Sony IMX363 Dual Pixel sensor and a 120 ° wide-angle camera at the rear against an 8 MP solution at the front.
This ROG Phone will be available at the end of October 2018 at a price of € 899. It will take advantage of Android Oreo 8.1 and a ROG Gaming mode X user interface.
