Last week, Xiaomi announced that it would be the first company to integrate Samsung's 108-megapixel sensor, but strangely, the sensor had not been introduced by South Koreans. Now Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX 108 megapixel is official, in collaboration with Xiaomi.
With the new 108 megapixel ISOCELL Bright HMX, Samsung takes the pixel size 0.8 μm one step further, after going from 48 MP to 64 MP. This is if Super sharp images at 27 MP combining four pixels into one, or a terrible 108 MP image with enough lighting on the scene.
Super sharp 27 MP photo
From the union of Samsung and Xiaomi emerged the first photographic sensor for mobile phones that exceeds hundreds of megapixels. 108 megapixels for The first sensor to adopt size 1 / / 133 inches, which allows it to absorb more light in low light conditions.
Powered by the company's Tetracell technology (the correct name for pixel grouping), it combines four pixels into one to restore high-quality images. 27 megapixels even in low light and with two zoom magnifications. The Rhemosaic algorithm can produce 108 megapixel (12,032 x 9,024) images in broad daylight.
ISO and 6K smart video recording
As for video recording, the HMX sensor supports recording without losing the angle of view in a Maximum resolution of 6K. (6016 x 3384) and 30 frames per second.
Another trick of this sensor is the mechanism. Smart ISO, which adjusts the amplification level of the amplifier according to ambient lighting for optimal conversion of light to electricity, as well as converting to low ISO to increase pixel saturation and achieve clearer photos. In dark scenes, change to higher ISO to reduce image noise.
This sensor includes super fast focusing thanks to Super-PD technology even with lighting and mass production begins this month. We will see it first on Xiaomi phones, although we still don't know which one.
