Sekiro: PvP and Co-Op modes are available for PC with fan mod

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has always been intended to be a strictly single player experience by FromSoftware. Now, a new fan-made PC mod has made PvP and co-op gameplay possible.

You can check out the mod in action below, in which the main player is invaded by an enemy player. This uses the ‘Invasion’ formula of dark souls as a basis for the mod in Sekiro, in which two players can battle it out until one is defeated and the invader disappears and returns to his own game.

The mod itself is called a Sekiro Online and you can download it from the NexusMods website. When posting on ResetEra, the mod’s creator acknowledges that it’s still “a bit buggy”, but it’s still too early for an ambitious mod.

O Sekiro Online allows cooperative combat and PvP. So, in addition to breaking into other players’ games to kill them, you can also enter another player’s world to help them defeat a tough boss, for example, as you would in many other FromSoftware games, including dark souls and bloodborne.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice it doesn’t have any online components, which was a little weird when it was released in March 2019. Coming from bloodborne and dark souls, where the online aspect plays a subtle but significant role, it seemed odd the complete lack of any online piece in Sekiro. But still the game itself was a triumph. In Voxel’s analysis, the game received an “Excellent” rating, with a score of 90 on all platforms it was released.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was named Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2019 and is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
