After bidding for facial recognition, a technological breakthrough came to public transportation in Sao Paulo. This Tuesday (3), Metrô and CPTM began to allow the purchase of tickets for transportation in São Paulo through QR Code. The experiment is conducted in seven seasons for 45 days.
There are four CPTM spaces with QR Code readers in turnstiles: Autódromo (Line 9-Emerald), Tamanduateí (Line 10-Turquoise), Don Bosco (Line 11-Coral) and Aeroporto-Guarulhos (Line 13-Jade). In the subway, only three stations make up the list: São Judas (Line 1-Blue), Paradise (Line 1-Blue and 2-Green) and Pedro II (Line 3-Red).
According to the Secretary of Metropolitan Transport, Alexandre Baldy, the use of technology in the payment system tends to bring more security and speed to users. The project should have no cost to the state government.
“Technological innovations are essential today for more efficient public management and better mobility solutions. Technology can and should be our ally to streamline costs, make the payment system safer and offer passengers better quality and agility. ”

How to buy?
The purchase of single tickets from Metrô or CPTM can be made by credit card via mobile phone with the VouD app. It is available at official Android and iOS stores. Download links are accessible from the card below the text. To use it, simply open the QR Code on the smartphone screen and pass the locks with the validator at participating stations.
If you prefer to use a debit card, it is possible in the self-service machines present in the seven selected spaces. Once purchased, the QR Code only needs to be passed on turnstiles with readers installed.
During the initial 15 days, sales will take place between 9am and 4pm. Later, they will happen throughout the operation period. QR Code tickets will expire on October 18. However, it is recommended that they be used within 72 hours of printing to avoid code damage.
