The report fell Apple Has begun to recall the 2015 MacBook Pro about battery issues where some batteries appear to be burning, some airlines have started to ban laptops from being placed in checked baggage. Instead, passengers must carry it with their luggage.
However, it appears that some airlines have gone further. Speaking to Bloomberg, Qantas has confirmed that they will ban all 15-inch MacBook Pro models. This even includes a MacBook Pro that is irrevocable, meaning the 2019 MacBook Pro 15 details you just bought will be part of that list.
Airlines have also banned the use of laptops during flights, stating that they must continue to turn off the entire trip. Although it seems extreme, that makes sense. This is because some of the reports we heard covered how the MacBook Pro battery was burned even when it was in sleep mode (meaning it wasn't completely off).
Despite the fact that the fire in the cabin can be easily overcome, we believe that it is a danger that Qantas does not want to risk. We're not sure how long this ban is expected to remain in place, but if you have a 15-inch MacBook Pro starting in 2015, you may want to replace the batteries as soon as possible.
