With yesterday's update, June 23rd, Telegram has added numerous interesting innovations aimed mainly at facilitating the addition of new contacts and the management of groups.
Location-based chats and many other features in the latest Telegram update
Telegram, one of the most popular instant messaging apps continues to introduce new features with the aim of further improving the user experience.
The last one update, released on Android and iOS yesterday, June 23, introduced a button to add to the contacts any user send us a message. Another novelty always concerning the addition of new contacts is the possibility of adding people in the vicinity, available in Contacts – Add people nearby.
The location can then be used to create local group chats, which will be visible on the same screen where the nearby contacts are located.
And if you are tired of dealing with numerous groups, you can pass this heavy burden on to a trusted person by transferring group chat and channel administration rights to the latter.
Below we leave you the complete changelog:
Easier to add contacts• Now you can add any user to your contacts, even if their phone numbers are not visible. • Quickly add the users next to you by going to Contacts> Add people nearby. You will see the people who have this section open.
Location-based chats• Host local communities by creating location-based group chats from the People section nearby.
Transfer group chats• Transfer ownership of group chats and channels by giving full rights to another administrator. Useful when changing jobs or if you want to stop being the creator.
Improved notification exceptions• Enable / disable message previews for specific chats and use the Search and 'Delete all' tools in notification exceptions.
