Models with 5G continue to drop to the market, but in a very short time they will be quite popular. Now it's Xiaomi's turn, since the 5G version of Mi 9 It has appeared on TENAA in recent hours, and with it details about a device that could reach the market in the coming weeks.
Although the Xiaomi Mi 9 was launched last February, many other versions of the device have subsequently appeared on the market but none with 5G. Now it seems that it is the time chosen to launch a 5G version of the Xiaomi Mi 9. The device has just passed through the Chinese certification office (TENAA), a previous step before it is put on sale.
Between the Xiaomi Mi 9S features, which is what this version would be called with 5G, is a design that is a little thicker than normal models reaching 8.95 mm, logical given that it would have a 4,000 mAh battery compatible with the fast 45 W load.
The diagonal of the panel would remain at 6.39 inches, and could have a resolution of 2k thus reaching 2560 × 1440 px.
The mounted processor will be a Snapdragon 855 Plus and would add optical image stabilizer to the main camera, located on the back of the body.
And the price of the Xiaomi Mi 9 5G?
Want Teng, Xiaomi product manager, has hinted at the price of 5G devices. Although Xiaomi has "democratized" to some extent the cost of this technology, remember that the Mi Mix 3 5G starts at 599 euros in its 128 GB version.
In this regard Want Teng has stated that the Xiaomi's next 5G smartphone will also not be especially cheap. There are currently several smartphones 5G in the market as the Huawei Mate 20 X 5G, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G or the LG V50 ThinQ.
All of them exceed 800 euros, so it seems that at least until well into 2021, we will not begin to see smartphones mid-range, that is, below 300 euros that is compatible with 5G. Remember that at the moment only the most powerful processors on the market, which are integrated in the high range, support this technology.
As rumored, the Xiaomi Mi 9S 5G could be released throughout September, first in China. It remains to see its price and if it finally reaches the rest of the markets.
