Night Vision mode in Pixel 4
If you took a look at the new version Google Camera 7.0 which we talked about a few days ago, you would surely see how new developments included a new approach adjustment that allowed defining infinity as the point to focus. This serves to focus on elements or scenes at remote distances, being able, for example, to photograph the stars.
However, how will we be able to capture the bright spots of the sky with our phone? That's where the renewed mode of Night vision. In XDA-Developers they have taken a good look at the function, and they have compared the results obtained with the current official version of the application (6.3) with the filtered version that includes the enhanced Night Vision mode, both versions of software installed in a Pixel 3 XL.
As you can see below, the improvements are very striking, since it has managed to reduce noise, patching the image and even the white balance has been improved, obtaining more natural colors in the sky and vegetation. The surprising thing here is that the tests carried out are with the current Google model, the Pixel 3, and we do not rule out that the images obtained with the Pixel 4 are even better.
As the creator of the images points out, in some shots the light pollution was so high that the stars could not be perceived, however, what interests us in this comparison is the existing improvement from one version to another, simply achieved with an improvement in camera software.
Seen as seen, now we only wish to see official results of the Pixel 4, since its two new cameras might be able to offer us very surprising results. But yes, unfortunately at this point we still do not know when we will see the Pixel 4 in the market, so for now we have no choice but to continue seeing photographs of stars.
We leave you with the rest of the test images with the original XDA-Developers article.
