The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare graphic engine is ready for the next generation. Undoubtedly one of the great novelties of the next installment of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the new look that it brings. For the first time in many years Activision has decided to renew the graphic engine of its military saga par excellence. A renewal that in addition to feeling very good, was a necessity especially so that the distance with its closest competition, Battlefield, did not extend so much. This new graphic engine looks really good in the visual and goes beyond the technical. So much so that the change in this engine is designed to look further into the future.
Michal Drobot, one of the developers at Infinity Ward, spoke with Gameinformer in an interview that has left us some interesting statement. In essence, the remarkable thing about his statements is that the graphic engine they have worked on is scalable and will adapt to any upcoming new console that comes in the future.
«Our technological horizon is ahead and will always adjust to what comes next. The objective was to create a fully scalable technology, where algorithms, hardware knowledge and quality engineering come first instead of relying too much on the specifications of a platform. Logically during the optimization phase in a game we make the relevant improvements to ensure that we are using the best approach for that particular hardware, but that is the final step, not the base. With this approach we have confidence in our engine's ability to adapt to any hardware that comes »
By this it means that what they already have done with their engine is the main job, an engine that will fit whatever the hardware in question they work on. Once adapted, comes the last stage that is basically to polish rough edges and ensure that it is well optimized. With the next generation just around the corner, it is foreseeable that the developers will already have their sights set on the future and even more so if you can see reviews of the consoles themselves.
