Huawei is starting to deploy the EMUI 9.1 update (based on Android 9 Pie) on the Huawei Y6 2019. It is available for download via OTA (over the air) in all countries where the terminal is marketed, so it is a matter of days or weeks you can install it. This new update, which has a weight of 2.35 GB and runs the EMUI version 188.8.131.52, It also comes with the Android security patch of July.
EMUI 9.1 includes many improvements and functionalities, and not only at the level of performance or security. One of the most prominent is the new EROFS file system, which improves write and read performance. It also includes the Huawei ARK compiler, which increases overall system performance, as well as GPU Turbo 3.0 to optimize the games at the time of the game.
The deployment of this new update is happening gradually. This means that it is possible that you have not yet received a pop-up message on the panel of your device notifying you of its availability. If the days go by and you still don't see it, you can check if it's available from the section Configuration, System, Software Update, Check for Updates. Another method to check is using the HiCare application and clicking on the "Update" button. From there you can check if it is possible to update.
