Apple re-approve the Launcher app for iPhone and iPad
Along with the arrival of iOS 8, one of the first applications that took advantage of the new notification center widgets was published in the App Store, this introduced the shortcut functionality allowing users the possibility of launching an application or completing a task such as call a specific person with just one touch, we talk about the application Launcher for iPhone and iPad. Apple approved this application and was available in the application store for more than a week, but then those of Cupertino made the decision to remove it for a "misuse" of the widgets, and now becomes available again.
Launcher adds shortcuts to the Notification Center through a widget
Since then the developer of Launcher, Greg Gardner, presented several times and on several occasions the application with the hope of creating something that Apple I might consider acceptable. After several attempts, earlier this month I present a limited version of Launcher getting approval from the App Store team. This new version allowed to call, send emails, messages and had FaceTime access, so Gardner asked for clarification on why this version was acceptable when its original application was not, then, since Apple they opted to revisit the first version of the Launcher application and were told that its functionality was now acceptable.
According to what Greg Gardner has said, he has not had to modify the original Launcher application so that Apple I approved it again and published it in the App Store. According to what he has said AppleWhen they launch a new feature in the operating system, they are very conservative about what third-party applications allow or not, however, these restrictions sometimes relax over time.
Launcher has retained all the functionalities which were launched along with the original version, which means that users can download the application and use it to configure shortcuts that will appear in the Today view of the Notification Center. These shortcuts are organized into four sections:
- Contact Launcher
- Web Launcher
- App Launcher.
- Custom Launcher
Each of the sections will allow you to create the shortcuts for which they are intended, with Contact Launcher We can put contacts to call directly with a touch, Web Launcher allows you to create shortcuts to our favorite websites, App Launcher let us have the icons of our favorite apps in the Notification Center working with both applications Apple As with third-party applications, finally we have Custom Launcher which allows users to create buttons for installed applications and any other type of shortcut.
