If they expected 240Hz screens on notebooks, ASUS brought an even better solution. Now, with its new notebooks, ASUS offers 300Hz ultra-responsive panels for esports players and more competitive players. This may seem a bit exaggerated, but ASUS says that the new panels are very good for reducing stuttering compared to the competition, the time to draw a 300Hz frame is 3.3ms, which is almost the same as the 3ms of response time of the pixels themselves.

The first notebook with a 300Hz screen will be the one already launched ROG Zephyrus S GX701 17-inch, and includes enough hardware to take advantage of this refresh rate, thanks to its GeForce RTX 2080. The 300Hz version will be released in October, while other ROG models will be launched in 2020. The prototypes that will be shown in the IFA include the 15-inch GX502, in addition to the 15-inch and 17-inch versions of the Strix SCAR III.

Screens of this type depend on the games running at very high SPF to take full advantage of their performance, and many titles are too demanding to run smoothly. We may have few games that meet the potential of a 300Hz screen, at least for now.

What do you think of these notebooks with Asus 300Hz screens?
