Definition of Breadboard
Have you ever known the term breadboard? Breadboard is a board or board that serves to design a simple electronic circuit. The breadboard will be prototyped or tested without having to solder.
One advantage using breadboard are the components that are assembled will not be damaged. These components can also be reassembled to form another series.
Breadboard is generally made of plastic which also has a variety of holes. The hole is pre-arranged so that it forms a pattern based on the network pattern inside. In addition, breadboards that can be found on the market are generally divided into 3 sizes. The first is called a mini breadboard, the second is called a medium breadboard, and the last is called a large breadboard. For mini breadboard, it has approximately 170 points.
As for the medium breadboard already equipped with approximately 400 points. Large breadboard has a hole of approximately 830. As shown above, that the mini breadboard has 200 connecting points. On the right side you can already see the layout pattern depicted in blue lines. Here you can see several writings from A to J.
After that there are still numbers 1.5, 10, 15, and 20. The combination of letters and also numbers is a coordinate. For example, A1, B1, up to E1 are connected to each other based on the connection pattern (Can be seen in the blue picture). While for A2 up to E2, A3 up to E3, F1 up to J1, and so on. By understanding the pattern, then we can later make a prototype so that we are not confused when having to place the electronic components in accordance with their respective places.
Meanwhile, the picture above is an example of a breadboard medium. As we have explained that the breadboard has a point of 400 which also makes it called the half breadboard. The picture above shows a pattern or layout on a breadboard medium. By knowing the number of holes and the model or layout of the breadboard medium, then you will have no trouble when having to put electronic components on it.
Breadboard Working Principle
After you understand the understanding and what kind of types of breadboard, then you also have to understand about the workings of this board. Because breadboard is a board without alias soldered solderless, then you can use it again.
You can also experiment with various electronic circuits. One example that you can apply is the circuit on the disco light and also the circuit on the flip-flop. As for in general, breadboard has a path that we will explain like the picture below:
After you observe the picture above, then you will know that the breadboard has the following working principles:
- 2 pairs on the bottom and top lines connected horizontally to go to the middle of the breadboard. Usually, it will function as a path from the power button as well as a signal path. Some examples are used for communication and clock lines. The 5 holes in the middle component are used as the location for assembling the components. The fifth lane is connected vertically to the center of the breadboard. Restrictions on the middle of the breadboard will usually function as a place to plug IC component.
Types of Breadboard
We explained earlier about the types of breadboard. The difference in each breadboard will usually be seen from the difference in the number of connection holes that exist in it. There are 3 types of breadboards commonly found on the market. We will give the explanation in full in the explanation below:
1. Mini Breadboard
Mini breadboard is the smallest type of solderless electronic board on this one. Mini breadboard is used to make a mini circuit that does not require large amounts of electronic components. The number of connection holes owned by the mini breadboard is approximately 170 points. The connection point is used as the connection point of the electronic components.
2. Medium Breadboard
Medium breadboard is also called breadboard half breadboard. This is because the number of connection holes is half of the number of holes owned by the largest type. The connection point owned by this one breadboard is approximately 400.
3. Large Breadboard
For the third type of breadboard this is the largest type. For those of you who want to make a large number of electronic component connections, then you can use a large breadboard. The number of points owned is as many as 830 points.
If you study breadboard, it is incomplete if you do not know the price of each breadboard. Below we will inform you about the price of breadboard based on the type.
- Breadboard PCB or Project Breadboard GL12 is sold at approximately Rp. 30,000. With these prices you can already get a breadboard with a size of 175 x 67 x 8 mm. This type is usually used in vocational schools. This one breadboard is usually used for diodes, transistors, capacitors, resistors, LEDs, and so on. Black breadboard with a size of 47 x 35 x 8.5 mm with a total of 170 pins sold at Rp. 12,000. Because the conductor uses copper material, the conductor's quality is one of the best. Easy to install on a robot that is used as an additional module. SYB 130 breadboard with 760 pins is priced at Rp. 16,000. This one breadboard has dimensions of 12 x 65 lines. This breadboard has a function like PCB.
That is the understanding of Breadboard along with the working principles and types of Breadboard that need to be known.
