Okay, if you still think HD resolution on a smartphone in 2020 is not enough, I can assure you otherwise. More precisely, I will try to do this because I have experience with modern devices with HD and FullHD screens. Talking about 2K might not make sense, because it is clear that such a resolution would be sufficient even for a folding cell phone. Why not worry about the resolution of the smartphone? Many may be afraid when they see a 6-inch cell phone with an HD screen. How is that? In 2012 Galaxy The S3 and HTC One X, the flagships of the time, were equipped with HD displays and nothing. The image at that time on the device looked very clear.
Yes, you can argue and say that in One X there is a 4.7-inch screen, and in some Redmi 6 – the review that I also made – a screen with a 5.45-inch diagonal. However, you must remember that modern cell phones use HD + resolution everywhere. This means that the width of the pixel count will be standard, but the height will be larger than usual. Therefore, Redmi 6 elongated has a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels, not the standard 1280 x 720.
So actually we have something between HD and FHD. And in terms of quality, the image on Redmi 6 in 5, 45 inches and HD + resolution does not seem rough. When choosing a device, you should always look not at resolution, but at dot density. Redmi has 6,295 dpi. For example, on the iPhone 11 there are only 326 points; however, this is a pillar that is worth 60 thousand rubles. It's not funny?

I have in my hands both Mi 9 Lite with FullHD + AMOLED screen and Redmi 6 with HD + IPS screen. And I don't see a significant difference in image clarity between the two screens; in both cases, everything is clear. And this despite the fact that on Mi 9 Lite 403 dpi.
The problem is that if previously the cell phone screen was small, and we had to look at the text, today it is not necessary. Using 9 Lite noodles for about two weeks and then grabbing the iPhone 6 I was surprised at how small the interface was. Those fonts seem totally illegible to me just because I'm used to great content on the big screen.

Of course there is an important point. Pixelization will be seen when it comes to AMOLED displays. For example in Galaxy A30 with 6.4-inch superAMOLED displays with a resolution of 1560 × 720 (HD +) pixels visible if you try to consider them with estimated usage. The density of the points on the device is only 268 ppi. But there are times. I have previously written that the content on smartphones is much larger, even at 268 dpi and the presence of PenTile, the content on the screen will be easy to read.

What's the score? In 2020, I won't worry about screen resolution at all, even if we're talking about 6.4-inch devices with HD resolution. Above, I have given an argument that is difficult to disagree with. Currently, the main thing is not the density of the dots, but the quality of the screen, and so far, many manufacturers have not done well. For example, with direct use Galaxy The A30s with their HD display appear to be a true flagship due to AMOLED technology. It is surprising what a high contrast ratio and lack of reflections do. If you are interested in the subject of AMOLED displays, you might be interested in my recent material on recording these matrices. I also wrote before that I was scared of the AMOLED screen, but then I changed my mind.
