Following the successful launch of Xfce 4.14, The development team now focuses its efforts on the next major update, Xfce 4.16, and the good news is that it could arrive earlier than expected.
The development team took almost 4 years to plan and launch Xfce 4.14, so a shorter period is always welcome.
"We want to focus on our release model (which presents a new release every six months) this time and take up to a year to launch a new stable version.”I mention the Xfce release manager, Simon Steinbeiss
One of the reasons why a quick launch can be a reality is that no big updates, that is, they do not have to change GTK version or add native support for Wayland, or any other action That involves a lot of time and resources.
In addition, there is talk of improving the maintenance of this graphic environment, possibly migrating your infrastructure for error tracking to Gitlab, which is currently in Bugzilla.
