Never stingy with a good opportunity to make people talk about it, Xiaomi has finally decided to launch its folding electric bike model in France long after its Mi Electric Scooter Pro.
Taking advantage of the deconfinement and the explosion of bicycle sales, the specialist in smartphones wants to put his grain of salt in a market where he was strangely absent.
Indeed, in China, the brand already sells several models of cycles and it was with one of them that it decided to take the plunge in Europe. The Mi QiCycle Folding Electric Bike was chosen. For the occasion, the folding electric bike changes its name to become Mi Smart Electric Folding Bike. However, the technical sheet remains identical to the Chinese version.
45 km of autonomy and 25 km / h
With 16-inch wheels, this small folding bike weighs 14.5 kg on the scale and can be folded in 3 separate movements (2 fold movements and a folding of the central rod) to gain compactness or be stored .
Its 250 W motor allows it to reach a maximum speed of 25 km / h in assistance. As with all other pedelecs, you will have to rely on your thighs to exceed this limit.
As for its 5800 mAh battery, it would allow the Mi Smart Electric Folding Bike to reach 45 km of autonomy.
In terms of riding, Xiaomi’s bike oscillates between three speeds and three assistance modes. It is also possible to deactivate the motor aid for a more sporty practice.

To change assistance mode but also to have an overview of its speed and mileage, you will have to rely on a small 1.8-inch LCD display located on the handlebars.
Finally, the Mi Smart Electric Folding Bike will be sold with front and rear lights as well as a doorbell. As for the price, it will compete directly with the TILT500, the electric and folding model of Decathlon, since it will be sold for 999 euros. Obviously, the Mi Smart Electric Folding Bike is eligible for the ecological bonus for electric bikes.
