For the nebulous new gaming notebook with 15.6-inch display, XMG has revealed to the IFA 2019 almost all the details. The slim notebook with compact dimensions will be called Fusion 15, developed in the core Intel. A six-core CPU, a GeForce RTX and a 93 Wh battery are housed in a lightweight magnesium alloy case.

Ultra-slim concept comes from Intel's client innovation team

Schenker's gaming notebook, which has already been announced at Gamescom 2019, is distributed exclusively by Schenker Technologies in Germany. The device was developed with the attributes of light, slim and compact but at the same time high performance by Intel, in cooperation with numerous regional distribution partners worldwide. Intel's Client Innovation Team is also responsible for NUC.

As an outstanding feature of the 20-millimeter-high gaming notebook Schenker calls the comparatively compact housing made of the magnesium die casting alloy AZ91D with edge lengths of 356 × 234 mm (W × D), which despite its 15.6-inch form factor only weighs just under 1.9 kg and yet come up with potent hardware in the form of a six core i processor combined with an Nvidia GeForce gaming GPU.

Thus, the core of Intel's 45-Watt TDP-class Core i7-9750H with six cores and hyper-threading. The XMG Fusion 15 calculates image signals using either a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti or the faster GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q with 8GB of GDDR6 graphics memory.

As memory always DDR4-2666 modules are installed in two SO-DIMM slots. In the basic configuration of the Fusion 15 are 8 GB, which can be expanded up to 64 GB. Schenker also offers a choice of different M.2 SSDs for mass storage – as is common in the entire product range. By default, at least 250 GB are installed. Depending on personal preferences, modules with a maximum of 2 TB each can be plugged into the two slots with PCIe NVMe connection.

Full-HD 144 Hz IPS display is calibrated

Schenker identifies the XMG Fusion 15 as one of the lightest notebooks in its class, yet stable, resistant and equipped with an efficient cooling system, and another feature is an optomechanical keyboard with silent switches and RGB single-button illumination via slightly concave keycaps features. The touchpad is covered with glass.

The lid of the Fusion 15 is equipped with a 15.6-inch IPS screen, which operates at a resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels with a maximum of 144 Hz. In addition, the factory calibrated display offers narrow margins and for semi-professional use also 90 percent coverage of the sRGB color space. Latency-reduced data transmission via radio is via a WLAN module with Wi-Fi-6 technology (IEEE 802.11ax).

Replaceable battery with 93 watt hours

The power supply off the socket takes despite ultra-slim concept, a relatively large-sized 93 Wh battery, which also screwed and thus is relatively easy to change. Video streaming and simple office applications are expected to run for up to 8 hours.

The XMG Fusion 15 will be available from Schenker's online shop in the base configuration with Core i7-9750H, 8 GB RAM, 250 GB SSD and the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti from the end of September. As usual, advanced configurations can also be selected during the ordering process. In addition, selected fixed configurations are offered through other retailers. On the other hand, Schenker Technologies did not yet quote a price for the IFA 2019.
